Trash The Dress with Lucii & Alex

*** I should preface this post with the fact that Trashing The Dress is not everyone's cup of tea. Not everyone thinks or wants to deface their wedding gown that they love and probably paid a boat load of money for, but some people do. Lucii did not have a problem with Trashing her dress. I am not posting this to hurt anyone feelings or even to have a verbal shoot down on if TTD is right or not. This is just a photo session that I shot. If looking at Trash The Dress photos bothers you - you may want to leave now!

When Lucii asked me, way back in January, to be the photographer for her wedding, she knew then that she wanted to Trash her Dress.

I started getting some ideas of just how she should trash her dress and I thought the best (and coolest) way was to paint it and then burn it. I talked with Lucii and her idea and my idea of trashing the dress were completely different. LOL You see Lucii wanted to trash her dress with mud and dirt. Since Lucii bought and owned the dress - mud was the trashing media.

Alex (her brand new hubby) also joined in on the trashing. We all had a blast. I think I may have taken more photos trashing her dress than I did at her wedding!!

I am still editing the photos and I am not finished yet. Here are some of my favs so far. I also took home part of her wedding gown to make her a photo frame out of it, ya know, just as remembrance. I will post that when I get it finished.

I have mixed feelings - these photos are beautiful but the idea of trashing a dress isn't appealing to me. When it came to cutting I almost cried...I just can't imagine doing it to my own dress.

However - that's just my own stinking opinion so who cares. YOu did a lovely job with the photos and I especially like the one of her in front the barrels of hay!

Wow, they are gorgeous photo's. I'm kinda with Ashley on this. A lot of people "trash" the dress in a way where it can be cleaned and preserved. But if that's what the bride really wanted then I'm glad you guys took it all the way. Your paint and burn method would have been awesome. Maybe another bride will let you do that with her in the future.

Incredible!

I don't think I could do that to my own dress (cause I didn't pay for it), but more power to her.

The pictures were I
INCREDIBLE!

I am also trashing my dress and i love these pics!!! I wont cut mine. But only cause we are preserving mine mud and all. My dress is completely hand sewn by me so this is my way of letting go of all the wedding stressers. I love your pics and can't wait for mine!!!
