'Smores in a jar

I found this recipe over at THE WALNUT GROVE - from my house to yours for 'Smores in a jar. Hannah LOVES (and I mean LOVES 'Smores). I had to go to the grocery today and I pick up the ingredients to make 'Smores in a jar.

Here is the recipe:

Too hot for a fire outside?
Well, bring the campfire in! With "Smores in a Jar!"

Very easy. Use mason jars, baby food jars, whatever oven-dish you wish. Put some crushed graham crackers in bottom, add a dollop of butter. Then top with chocolate bars, chips, whatever you have on hand. Then top with some marshmallows.

Here I have my lovely model Hannah showing the 'Smores right before we popped them into the oven.
'Smores 1

Put in oven on cookie sheet for about 5-10 minutes on 320degrees. Keep an eye on it, so that your marshmallows don't start oozing down the side--Grab a spoon and enjoy!

Here is our finished product.
'Smores 2

I must add that we had to make 2 jars of 'Smores. It seems that I have a godzilla oven and baking it at 320 burnt the marshmallows. They were still able to eat them they were not horribly burnt.

On the second go round of 'Smores in a jar - I layered about 1/2 teaspoon of margarine over top of each layer the marshmallows. That seemed to be the ticket with this second batch, plus I microwaved the 'Smores for ONE minute before I put the 'Smores back into the oven to bake. The reason being - I used chocolate chips and they do not melt all that great (not as great as a Hershey's bar). Next time I will definitely use a Hershey's bar in place of the chocolate chips.

Do let me or Patti from THE WALNUT GROVE - from my house to know if you try to make 'Smores in a jar. I wanna see how they turn out with you!

Go forth and bake!!
